Winter’s Wonderful Wisdom

Winter is the beginning of the return to light. As we complete the end of the year and bridge into the new one, we have this opportunity to nurture and grow our own unique seeds of creation. Whether you are living in the cold at this season or in a warm climate, we experience a time of slowing down, reflection, and celebration at this point of completion and welcoming the new. Living in a warm climate, we recently planted our winter garden from seed. It always feels miraculous to put a seed in the earth and have it grow into a full grown plant for nourishment. In our case, it will be lots of greens, kale, lettuce, arugula, beets, and cabbage. This is one of the most basic experiences of living– plant a seed; the unique qualities of each plant begins with that seed that contains the blueprint of what the plant is in its maturation. The plant receives light, water, and the conditions for growth to reach its fullest potential for us to receive the food that gives us life.
This is a gift from nature, an awesome feat! Winter is a point of power, a time to review, replenish and rest. A time to reflect on your wellness as you balance the spheres of your life, mental, physical and spiritual. Identifying your own unique rhythms as you look inside with contemplation; How are you feeling about yourself and your life? What was really good about this year that's ending? What is up for renewal and transformation for you? What gives you support during this cycle of transformation where you feel uplifted? What are you letting go of, and what are you creating? Recognizing and organizing around the deep structures of your being, your life, behaviors, self-expression, your purpose, and what shapes and defines you in all the layers of your living is fruitful. Patterning and organizing around the everyday rhythms of this year to come helps you to balance.

Hypnotherapy is essentially a very deeply relaxed state where we communicate directly with the unconscious mind to assist with making positive transformations in our lives. As we move through life, over time we sometimes notice we have thought patterns or behaviors that are holding us back, not helping us to get what we want out of life. These thoughts, behaviors, actions, and feelings that are not in alignment with how we want to feel are controlled by our unconscious mind. They are programs: just like our computers have operating systems, so do we! We also have the ability to upgrade the programs we are running on - that is what hypnotherapy does! First we talk; I listen to your words and experiences, acknowledge your problems, concerns, goals, and dreams. Then I guide you into hypnotic trance, a natural state where relaxation happens. Through language patterns, story, and metaphor, we rewrite your inner programs. It is a relaxing and enjoyable process.
Flower Essence Therapy is truly a treasure trove of lovely, powerful, gentle healing helpers. Flowers are an ambassador of light! These remedies help us to rebalance our emotional body and return us to a positive state of mind. As we sort through our wants and needs for ourselves and others, there is an element of the season that orchestrates this process of creativity and thoughtfulness. Winter gives us a moment in time of contemplation and inner nourishment. What seeds do you want to grow in the year to come? What do you want to receive? What gifts do you want to give, to yourself, to others and to the world at large?
May you be and feel blessed by winter’s wonderful wisdom!
