Neuroscience Meets Educational Counselling
Ann-Marie Sullivan
Emotional Health Practitioner
I have always had a curiosity for understanding the human brain, and patterns that human beings create for themselves.
I pursued this curiosity and received a Bachelor of Art's Degree (Pyschology/Sociology focus) from Trent University.
I then wanted to pursue a career where I could make a difference in the lives of children, as well as provide guidance to these young minds. I received a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen's University thereafter and went on to obtain an Honors Specialist Degree in Contemporary Studies ( Social Sciences/ Humanity focus)
After several years of gaining experience teaching children at several ages/stages, and raising my 2 boys, I decided to continue my love of learning.
I have completed the Emotional Health Practitioner course through the Canadian Family Health Counselling Center. EHP #2207.
As an Elementary school teacher for 22 years, I have been fortunate enough to make a difference in young children's lives.
The everyday classroom is very busy, and sometimes doesn't allow teachers to address social emotional well being as best we can. My services will allow me to focus on spending more quality one to one time with youth to help improve effective communication techniques, self esteem, and overall self confidence.
Confident 2 Be Counselling will bridge my two career paths together where Neuroscience meets Educational Counselling.
