Let's Take a Walk

As the weather cools, it’s a perfect time to start walking!

  • Try for 30 minutes a day

  • It can improve your cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance

  • It can reduce your risk of developing conditions like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and some cancers.

  • Walking with others can make exercise fun!

  • It’s free and doesn’t require any special equipment or training.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and appropriate footwear to avoid blisters and shin splints.

  • Drink plenty of fluids before and after your walk. If you are going for a long walk, take water with you.

  • See your doctor for a medical check-up before embarking on any new fitness program.
