5 Summer '22 Fashion Trends I'm Loving Right Now
Is it just me, or are fashions right now way cuter than trends of the last few years?
Maybe I'm biased because I've always loved everything Y2K, but everything just seems so fresh and fun!
I'm so happy that fashion-wise, we've changed pace from muted earth tones and... skinny jeans (I just visibly shuddered).
I know some are mourning the loss of the like-skin staple, but I for one have never been a fan and am so excited that bootcut and wide leg silhouettes are taking over!
Now the low rise, I'm not convinced of - I have flashbacks of having to do the "squat test" (to make sure there's no... let's say, "bits" showing) for my mom when shopping for back-to-school jeans each August. So maybe not *everything* Y2K.
Luckily, there's a mix for everyone right now - we are becoming a society that increasingly lets everyone wear whatever the heck they want - some even say we are having an individualism renaissance.
I love that - everyone should wear what makes them happy!
But with that being said, adding some fun trends to you lean toward to your wardrobe is a great way to spice things up and have some fun with your style - maybe even step out of your comfort zone!
Here are 5 trends I'm currently loving:
Wide Leg Pants
I said it up above, and I'll say it again - I am so happy that wide leg pants are back!
Bright Colours
I think we all need some bright after the last few years we've had. These colours reflect the hope in our hearts that we are moving beyond some of the awful - and I love it! I'm looking forward to seeing these colors transition to the fall as well.
Retro Patterns
Patterns are back in a big way - and there's something for everyone - hearts, houndstooth, checks, florals, swirls - it's about time we add some whimsy back into our lives - and wardrobes.
Cowboy Boots
I am so excited about this trend - I got a pair of cowboy boots on a trip to California a few years back and I still love them now as much as I did then. I'm glad others are now seeing how cute they are! They go with everything from skirts, to dresses, to cargo pants and more.
Mini Skirts
Originally from the 60s, mini skirts were huge in the early 2000s are back again. Fun and flirty, they are a great summer staple for nights out. If micro-minis aren't your thing, try a hem that's just above the knee for a cute but comfy look!
