ENTRY FEE

Entry Requirements

  • Each participant pays $25 to enter the contest to help cover processing, administrative fees, and maintenance of the site during the contest

  • Once the participant pays the entry fee, they will be contacted via the email they used to sign up with to receive next steps

  • Entries must be received by 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time on July 30th, 2024

  • A $25.00cad + tax entry fee is required - the fee covers the administration costs and site maintenance.

  • Payment can be made by credit card (Visa, MasterCard) or debit card via PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account to make payment).

  • *Note: You do not need a PayPal account to pay the entry fee.

Entries

  • Entries close on July 30th, 2024.

  • Entrant submissions will be received until August 12th, 2024.

  • Public Voting begins August 12th, 2024.

  • Winner Announced September 12th, 2024 @ The Authors' Gathering.

Submissions

  • Submissions will be accepted online only, via email.

  • Contestant submissions must be received by August 12th, 2024 at 11:59 pm EST.

  • The winner must submit their manuscript as a Word/Google Doc. Absolutely no PDFs.

  • The winner must answer math skill-testing question.

Judging Criteria:

  • Contestants will receive votes from the public via email submission. The public will vote based on a 300-word blurb about the entrants' planned book if they should receive the publishing package.

  • One vote per email.

  • After the public voting period ends, a panel of judges will vote based on a 300-word blurb about the entrants' planned book if they should receive the publishing package.

  • Once the voting period ends, votes will be counted and the contestant with the most votes will be announced as the winner.

Code of Conduct:

  • By entering this contest, voters agree to be respectful of the organizer and other participants. They recognize that any form of cheating will cause immediate disqualification of the participant with no refund.

  • From the entrants, we expect respectful communication, and absolutely no cheating, plagiarism, or use of AI. The consequence of not following these rules is immediate disqualification and no refund of the entry fee.

  • We reserve the right to refuse any entry that is offensive or abusive in any way, without a refund of the entry fee.

Disqualification Clause:

  • We reserve the right to disqualify any contestant suspected of abuse or cheating in any form. This includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, the use of AI, falsifying information, or manipulating the contest process.

Legal Compliance:

  • We do not store or retain the email addresses of individuals who vote in this contest.

How the Contest Will be Run

  • Each contestant will submit their photo (to be used throughout the contest) and a brief description of their book idea and why they should be published - this description will be 300 words long.

  • Each contestant can submit up to two (2) book ideas (300 words each).

  • The winner will be declared based on the results of the public vote combined with our panel of Judges' votes.

Eligibility

  • Ages 18 and up.

  • Can be previously published.

  • Previous winners are ineligible to enter again.

  • Winners must correctly answer a math skill-testing question.

Submission Guidelines

  • Eligible books include: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Wellness, Poetry, Business, or Memoir .

  • At this time we are not accepting children’s books or anthologies for this contest.

Intellectual Property:

  • Participants will retain ownership of their submissions.

  • The winner will retain the copyright of their work.

  • We will provide the production services necessary for the winner to self-publish their book.

Disclaimers:

  • The organizer is not liable for any damages, losses, or injuries that occur as a result of participating in the contest.

  • Rules are subject to change. Participants agree to abide by any updates made by the organizer.

  • We must have a minimum of 10 contestants for the contest to be viable. If we should not reach the minimum number and the contest has to be cancelled, entry fees will be refunded.

  • No refunds.
